Weavers are a disappearing profession. This labor-intensive work is measured in thousands of hours and kilometers of wool thread. Each product contains the soul of the master. We present rare examples of ancient woven carpets and kilims from all over the world, which will soon be exhibited in museums of the future. Now we become part of history, feel the spirit of the times and touch the magic of the creator.
HISTORY
A Tatari kilim pillow from North Afghanistan, over 80 years old, is a rare and beautiful decorative piece crafted using traditional double interlock technique with the flat woven. Kilims from this region are known for their geometric patterns, rich symbolism, and high-quality natural dyes derived from plants, minerals, and insects.
Material: Handwoven wool on wool foundation, ensuring durability.
Dyes: All natural dyes, which have aged gracefully, giving the pillow a soft, time-worn patina. Bold colors include deep reds, blues, indigo, saffron yellows, green, ochres, earthy browns, and whites.
Design: Typical Tatari kilims feature bold geometric motifs, including diamond patterns, hooked medallions, and tribal symbols that reflect the heritage of the weaver.
Origin: Woven by nomadic or village artisans in Northern Afghanistan, an area with a rich history of kilim production.
